Smart search (header & in-app)

Updated May 20, 2026

The header search looks across the Card Codex card database as you type. It is designed for real-world queries: Pokémon names, set nicknames, and card numbers all help you land on the right print faster.

How to use it

  1. Click the search field in the site header.
  2. Type at least a few characters; results appear in a dropdown.
  3. Open a card to see every variant and price, or use quick actions where available (such as opening the variant picker to add to collection).

Numbers and prints

When your query includes digits, search can prioritize matches that make sense for numbered cards (for example set numbers). Combined with title text (“Pikachu 25”), this reduces scrolling through unrelated cards.

Search inside your tools

Similar search powers exist when you add cards to a list or work inside certain collection views: you type a term, pick a card, then choose the exact variant in the modal. That keeps large collections manageable without leaving the workflow.

Account requirements

Searching the catalog works while logged out. Saving anything you find still requires a free account.

Collecting at scale? Pro removes the 200-card collection cap and adds more list and deck room.
